The Promise

Updated: Jun 4

The world is getting darker and more wicked. There are more wars, crimes, injustices, devastations, diseases, pandemics, and natural disasters than ever. Thinking about it all or even watching the news can feel overwhelming and induce feelings of anxiety and fear. 2 Timothy 3: 1-5 says “But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power.” So where is our hope for the future, for the coming generations? What world are we leaving for our children?

A few weeks ago, I was in the car with my husband and children, and I looked out the window into the vast sky and saw something very particular.  It was a rainbow within a cloud. I continued to observe and saw that this rainbow was only present within this one cloud, and it had a long tail, like an elegant fish, emanating from one side. The Lord started to speak to me through this image in the sky. The Lord had not spoken to me this way since 2020, so I was paying close attention. He then said he was releasing His promise of the last days upon the earth. I then saw a pair of hands in the sky as if they had just released this rainbow cloud into the sky, to move across the Earth. This had me think of Joel 2:28-29 and Acts 2:17.

Cloudy sky with a subtle rainbow and power lines. A yellow arrow points at the rainbow. Trees below, creating a serene mood.

The Lord Will Pour Out His Spirit

28 [a] “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. 29 Even on the male and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit.

Acts 2:16-18 - But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel:

17 “‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.

We are in the last days and even in the midst of darkness, the Lord is faithful to His promises. Upon us is a great revival amongst the nations of the Earth. In the darkest times, the light shines even brighter. God is waking up His children from spiritual slumber and calling those with ears to hear and eyes to see to do great exploits for Him in this fourth watch of the night. We are being called to be that light that leads others to the way of everlasting who is Jesus Christ. This is where true hope lies, and we are commissioned to proclaim the Kingdom of God. NOW is the moment of decision. Will you believe God for His promise? Ask to be empowered by the Spirit of God to do great exploits in Jesus' name.

I pray Isaiah 60: 1-3 over you - “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you. And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. Amen.
