10 Days of Prayer, Fasting & Prophetic Alignment for the New Year

There are moments when we must stop, become still, seek God, and allow Him to order our steps.

As we approach the Hebrew New Year 5787, we are calling the Prayer Warriors Arise community into 10 days of corporate fasting, repentance, prayer, worship, and prophetic alignment.

The biblical themes of Rosh Hashanah—the Feast of Trumpets—and Yom Kippur—the Day of Atonement—provide a powerful backdrop for this season of reflection, repentance, consecration, and preparation. The attached fasting guide emphasizes using this period to release what belongs to the past season, receive renewed vision and hope, deepen our relationship with God, and seek His direction for what lies ahead.

⚔️ 5787 — THE YEAR OF THE SWORD

For this challenge, 5787 is being approached prophetically as “The Year of the Sword.” The Hebrew letter Zayin (ז) carries the numerical value seven and is associated in the devotional material with the imagery of a sword or scepter. The prophetic emphasis is on allowing the Word of God—the Sword of the Spirit—to become active in our lives and through our words. 

This is a year to ask:

What is God saying?What must I release?What must I repent of?What must I realign?Where is God leading me?And what steps must I take to fulfill His purpose?

We are not fasting merely to go without food.

We are fasting to make room for God.

We are seeking Him for clarity, direction, holiness, renewed spiritual vision, revival, breakthrough, restoration, and divine strategy.

Order my steps in my:

Family.

Marriage.

Ministry.

Career.

Business.

Finances.

Relationships.

Calling.

Purpose.

And daily walk with You.

Give me eyes to see what You are doing, ears to hear what You are saying, discernment to recognize Your voice, courage to obey Your instructions, and wisdom to steward everything You place in my hands.

Let Your Word become the Sword in my mouth and Your Spirit the One who directs my path.

💧 HOW WILL WE FAST?

There is no mandatory food fast for this challenge. Participants may prayerfully choose the level of fasting appropriate for them—from a partial food fast to a more intensive fast, along with a possible media/digital fast.

Consider your health and circumstances and to consult their physician when appropriate.

The greater goal is not simply what we give up.

It is Who we make room for.
