Are you hearing God for 2025? – Part 1
Sundown October 2nd, 2024, marks the beginning of Rosh Hashanah, also known as the New Year on the Hebrew calendar. This is the first High Holy Day that initiates ten days of repentance ending at Yom Kippur or “Day of Atonement”. Paying attention to the Hebrew calendar can help us believers in Christ to hear the voice of the Lord and receive guidance to prepare us for the natural happenings in 2025. Let me start with a brief foundation by which I encourage all to continue research.
The new Hebrew year we are entering is 5785. Both Hebrew and Gregorian new years end in 5 which means grace, abundance, favor, redemption, five-fold ministry, the responsibility of man, Behold, to reveal (Ephesians 4:11; Genesis 1:20-23; Psalm 119:33-40). Continuing to pay attention to the number five, I went to my notes to recap what God had said about 2024. My notes read the “year of the open door” which also stemmed from the fourth letter of the Hebrew alphabet Daleth ד which means door (even looks like an open door to me). A door is an opening or entrance, symbolic of transition and our hearts. The fifth letter in the Hebrew alphabet is He ה which means “to look” or “behold”. I was brought to Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door and know. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
If 2024 is the moment of decision and an open door, 2025 is the year the effects of the decisions made in 2024 will be evident. I also heard the Lord say that because of the decisions people choose to make, there will be even further separation among the people. You are either “in” or “out”. In Christ or outside of Him, this is your choice and your decision to make and there is no grey area here. Believing in Christ Jesus is not enough, demons believe and tremble, but they are not “in Christ” (James 2:19). Some even claim to be Christian but are not “in Christ” at all. They may “look” like Christians, speak the lingo, wear the shirts, and even attend church but they lack fruits of the spirit, they don’t pray and seek the Lord, and their private devotional life is non-existent. The Lord then led me to recall the parable of the 10 virgins in Mathew 25: 1-13. The Word of the Lord is important to me, so I am going to paste the entire chapter for you to read closely.
The Parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins
25 “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, 4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.
6 “And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom [a]is coming; go out to meet him!’ 7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ 9 But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.
11 “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ 12 But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’
13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour [b]in which the Son of Man is coming.
What stood out to me was verse 10 where the door was shut to the foolish virgins. The wise virgins were the ones who had prepared for the coming of the Lord. Here we see the consequences for the foolish that were not prepared, they were distracted, and shut out. The wise virgins were overcomers, they prepared and endured until the end. Going back to Revelation, there is a word for the overcomers of this time.
Revelation 3:21 – “To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with my Father on His throne.
Revelation 3:12 – “He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more.
This made me think about success = opportunity + preparation. If you want success in 2025, there has to be a time of preparation. The letter He ה also means repentance. What is your choice while the door is still open? Will you choose to be fully in Christ? Either you're fully “in” or you're fully “out”. If you are reading this and feeling the conviction of the Lord, now is your best moment of decision. God is calling you closer to Him, to be consecrated and sanctified, and fully committed to His purposes. Don’t wait another moment, don’t let the door be shut, and ask Jesus to come into your heart as your Lord and Savior. Repent from your foolish behavior and ask God to lead you into a season of preparation for the things to come in this next season and next year.
I also encourage you to read and meditate on Psalm 119:33-40
ה HE
33 Teach me, O Lord, the way of Your statutes, And I shall keep it to the end.34 Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law; Indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart.35 Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, For I delight in it.36 [a]Incline my heart to Your testimonies, And not to covetousness.37 Turn[b] away my eyes from looking at worthless things, And revive me in [c]Your way.38 Establish Your word to Your servant, Who is devoted to fearing You.39 Turn away my reproach which I dread, For Your judgments are good.40 Behold, I long for Your precepts; Revive me in Your righteousness.
My desire for you is to live a powerful life in Jesus Christ and through the constant infilling of the Holy Spirit. If you are interested in more content like this, please visit and subscribe Home | I AM FIT and FREE (janelletaveras.wixsite.com) and
